Pay scales used by the students' union are those operated by the university and also the national minimum wage. They are offered on an appropriate scale and grade for the position. A copy of the current salary scales can be viewed on the university HR web site.

Your rate of pay will be as set out in your terms and conditions of employment. Career staff will receive annual increases as negotiated between universities and trades’ unions.

Salary is paid directly into a bank or building society account on the 15th of each month for support staff and the 28th of the month for other staff. Payslips are now viewed on-line.

Employees are required, for the purposes of the Wages Act 1986, to repay the University from their salary any sums due to the University, including any overpayments, loans or advances made by the university or the students' union.
